Image DPI Adjuster Online

Set image print-resolution metadata and download a copy as PNG, JPG or WebP. Pixel dimensions stay the same.

Pixel dimensions stay the same. PNG and JPG files receive the selected DPI metadata (JPG supports up to 65535); WebP output does not embed DPI metadata. Changing DPI does not add image detail.

Choose a file to get started.

Files are processed in your browser where supported. Check the destination form's official size, dimensions and file-format requirements before submitting.

Image DPI Changer Online: PNG, JPG and WebP

Looking for an image DPI changer or a way to prepare an image for printing? DPI (dots per inch) describes print density. A common target is 300 DPI, but the right setting depends on the print service, document, and required physical size.

Use these free JIOPDF tools to prepare images for forms, documents, printing and everyday tasks:

How to use the Image DPI Adjuster

  1. Select an image using Choose image.
  2. Enter a target DPI value from 1 to 1200 (300 is a common print target).
  3. Choose PNG, JPG or WebP in Download format, then select Download image.
  4. Before submitting or printing, verify the file's actual resolution metadata and dimensions in the destination software.

Does changing DPI increase image quality?

No. Changing a DPI number alone does not add pixels, sharpen an image, or create extra detail. Pixel dimensions and the intended print size both matter. For example, a 3000-pixel-wide image at 300 pixels per inch corresponds to a nominal print width of 10 inches.

Important output limitation

This tool exports PNG, JPG/JPEG or WebP with the same pixel dimensions. It writes DPI metadata into PNG (pHYs) and JPG/JPEG (JFIF density, up to 65535 DPI) output. WebP DPI metadata is not written by this version, so choose PNG or JPG when the target application requires embedded DPI metadata. DPI does not add pixels or image detail.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make an image 300 DPI?

Select your image, enter 300, choose PNG or JPG, and download. Verify the embedded DPI metadata in your image editor if a destination system requires a specific value.

Will this tool increase image resolution?

No. It keeps the image's pixel width and height unchanged and does not create new image detail.

Is this an online image DPI converter?

Yes. It can export PNG, JPG/JPEG and WebP. PNG and JPG outputs include the selected DPI metadata; WebP output does not currently embed it.

What keywords describe this tool?

Image DPI adjuster, image DPI changer online, change image DPI, 300 DPI image, PNG DPI tool, and image print resolution are relevant descriptions of the tool's purpose.
